Jerome Curtis (Jerry) Tinianow

My wife and I lived in Cleveland (1980-89) and Columbus (1989-2012) before moving to Denver in 2012. My Ohio time was spent as a commercial trial attorney with two large firms, then as state executive director with the National Audubon Society and as director of the Center for Energy and Environment at the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission. In 2012 Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock appointed me to be the city's first Chief Sustainability Officer. After seven years in that position I left to open a consulting firm that assists local governments with sustainability and climate action work. In recent years I have done a lot of work with mountain ski towns, which have special sustainability issues that "normal" towns don't have to deal with. Both of our sons live in Denver - but not in our basement!
