Nancy Ann Newman

I sailed away to France for college in Paris. Spent two years there with a brief stint in Glasgow, Scotland. Finished my studies in Boston, where I lived for 5 years. Majored in Philosophy, ever the dreamer...Moved to Manhattan in 1981 when I became engaged, studied to become a Chef, married in East Hampton NY, in 1983 and moved back to Paris for 2 more years to study at La Varenne Culinary School and worked and traveled throughout France, Italy, England, Greece, Austria, Spain. From 1985-2005 , I lived and worked as an Executive Chef and Culinary Instructor in Manhattan, East Hampton, L.I. and then New Jersey. I had my children in 1994 and 1998, @ 40 and 43 years of age. I divorced in 2006, after 23 years of marriage. Son At Oberlin, lacrosse player. Daughter senior, HS. College bound south. Currently private instructor, tutor, tennis and yoga student and planning next adventure. Any ideas?

Great times dancing every weekend , sometimes to soul sounds, and mixed with best rock and roll a city ever had. We were so lucky to be free and safe. It seems I saw every band from 70's's in concert but I can't recollect how!! Grateful Dead, The Who, Beach Boys, Jethro Tull, Santana,, Elton John, Crosby, Stills, Nash, Joe Walsh, Phoebe Snow, James Taylor, Allman Bros., Earth, Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, America, War, Country Joe, Rolling Stones etc.

Dreaming of future in 11th grade and making it real with no money or parental support.I didn't even know about danger really. Fearless and committed to adventure and seeing the world beyond. .

What a generation we lived in. In the most sheltered but progressive town of its day. I remember so many people who contributed to my life and reunions enable me to remember them. And thank them if I can.
