Lisa Teem Bell

I graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College ( now, University) in 1976. I substituted in the Cleveland Public Schools for 1 year, & quit when a student brought a gun to school. I was a waitperson at Charlie’s Crab, & then went to Cleveland State University for a Master of Music in Education. My instrument is clarinet.
I married Dr. Ronald E. Bell in 1982, lived in Princeton, NJ until 2013. I was the concert mistress of the Blawenburg Band, oldest community band in the country! 135 years)
I now play with the Brunswick Bands, in Southport, NC.

My most memorable HS event was Vietnam Moratorium Day. Most students stayed away from school that day, but my biology teacher (whom Linda Post can attest to!) gave a test that day, so I went. Linda did not; she got an F for the test… but managed to get a final grade of “A”, even with that!
She is my “Shero “! I also had an English teacher named Mr. Slack (SO appropriate!) He was teaching to avoid the draft, but didn’t want to miss a day’s pay. He wore a black armband on his $400 (back then!) suit, in “protest”.
